Psychotherapy & Consultation

Services Offered

The decision to seek assistance from someone outside of your family, social, and work circles takes courage regardless of the reason. This step may seem like a GIANT leap when you typically consider yourself a self-sufficient, problem-solving, working professional! I strive to create a healthy, therapeutic relationship in which you feel comfortable identifying your strengths and areas for improvement to overcome the barriers to your goals.

I have particular interest in working professionals experiencing grief, loss, and men's issues. The sudden loss of a loved one or close friend often feels like withdrawal after quitting cold turkey. The challenge becomes even harder when you feel the need to be the rock, the support that everyone else needs as they also grieve! My goal is to work with you to overcome the struggles you are facing while you attempt to maintain you busy life. I want you to reach your goals towards feeling more comfortable with the changes happening in your life.

Although I have trained in multiple modalities of treatment, I mainly utilize Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. For those needing guidance without the therapeutic element, I also offer consultation and life coaching services.

As no two individuals are alike, an intake assessment is completed during the first appointment to determine the best approach to reach your goals.

ABOUT CHRIS

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois. Verification of active Illinois licensure can be obtained online through the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation. I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago (Go Ramblers!) and my Master of Social Work degree from The University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!). My educational track focused on clinical practice related to health and mental health issues.

In addition to my private practice, I currently work at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on the General Medicine Service as a Clinical Social Worker. I have prior experience with individuals and families at Loyola University Chicago, Chicago House Social Service Agency, The Kansas City Care Clinic (formerly The Kansas City Free Health Clinic), U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (Kansas City VA Medical Center), and Saint Ignatius College Prep (Chicago, IL).

INSURANCE & RATES

I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone. A limited number of sliding scale rates are available and will be assessed by your annual income. Standard rates start at $200 for each 50 minute session. Payment is due at time of service.

I am in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. If you have a BCBS PPO plan, your cost is dictated by BCBS and the $200 fee may not apply.

Out-of-network plans are accepted but subject to the full $200 rate. I can submit claims to most out-of-network insurance plans and have any applicable reimbursement sent to you. If you plan on using an out-of-network insurance plan or no insurance, you please review the linked document related to the No Surprises Act: Click here to review document.

Cash, checks, and wire transfers are accepted. There is an additional charge fee to use a credit card for payment.

Location & Appointments

I am currently practicing via telehealth only given schedule limitations.

At this time, I have limited spots for new clients. Please email me to schedule your first appointment.

A credit card is required to schedule an appointment. However, the preferred payment method to avoid additional charges is wire transfer.

Please note: Appointments cancelled less than 24-hours in advance will be billed at our agreed upon rate using the credit card kept on file. Insurance companies do not reimburse for cancelled or missed appointments.
